  1. Miyazaki Film Series

    February 2, 2020, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ The Savoy Theater

    The Savoy is proud to announce the return of our semi-annual Miyazaki Series! This February marks the beginning of our Winter Series, featuring four beloved classics from the critically acclaimed director, Hayao Miyazaki, showing at 10:00 AM every Sunday morning for the month. Sunday, February 2nd: My Neighbor Totoro - G Sunday, February 9th: Whisper of the Heart - G Sunday, February 16th: The Wind Rises - PG-13 Sunday, February 23rd: Spirited Away - PG The mission for these events is to offer the youth in the community a chance to see these captivating films on the big screen. We believe Miyazaki’s films hold value and beauty and life lessons that we don’t want anyone to miss out on. These screenings are open to adults and kids of all ages!   2. Ice On Fire

    February 2, 2020, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ North Branch Nature Center

    Join us for Ice on Fire, our Central Vermont Winter Festival! Come one, come all to this wonderful festival, celebrating the warmth of community in the depths of winter. Dance, theater, music, storytelling, and poetry performed by local artists and community members, winter games, kids activities and more. Free cider, chili, performances, and activities for all! The North Branch Nature Center Opening parade - 2 pm, Closing ceremony/bonfire - 4:30 pm. Suggested donation: $3 kids, $5 adults, $10 family. Bring a mug for chili and hot cider. Dress festively and warmly to be outside and enjoy the weather.   3. All-Gender Roller Derby Recruitment

    February 2, 2020, 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM @ Montpelier Recreation Center

    Ever wanted to try roller derby? Here's your chance! No experience or gear required to get started. Make new friends, get super strong and fit, have fun, and get working on those new year's resolutions. We are running an 8-week program to teach you all the skills you need to join the team! Never fear - there is no physical contact with other skaters at this introductory level. 18+, all genders and ability levels are welcome. We will lend you skates and protective gear (you must bring a mouthguard) for the duration of the program. Please RSVP with your shoe size so we can make sure we have skates for you.
