  1. Montpelier Alive's Tropical Weekend in Downtown Montpelier

    February 7, 2020 - February 9, 2020

    Chase away the winter blues with a fun-filled Tropical Weekend in Downtown Montpelier. You will enjoy a variety of tropical themed events, menu items and merchandise. Participating businesses will compete to win the Golden Flamingo Award. Vote on which business you think did the best job of bringing the tropical feel to Montpelier and be enter to win a $100 gift certificate to the Montpelier Alive member business of your choice. Look for the pink flamingos and tiki torches to find participating businesses. Voting will be available in all participating businesses.

  2. Miyazaki Film Series

    February 9, 2020, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ The Savoy Theater

    The Savoy is proud to announce the return of our semi-annual Miyazaki Series! This February marks the beginning of our Winter Series, featuring four beloved classics from the critically acclaimed director, Hayao Miyazaki, showing at 10:00 AM every Sunday morning for the month. Sunday, February 2nd: My Neighbor Totoro - G Sunday, February 9th: Whisper of the Heart - G Sunday, February 16th: The Wind Rises - PG-13 Sunday, February 23rd: Spirited Away - PG The mission for these events is to offer the youth in the community a chance to see these captivating films on the big screen. We believe Miyazaki’s films hold value and beauty and life lessons that we don’t want anyone to miss out on. These screenings are open to adults and kids of all ages!   3. All-Gender Roller Derby Recruitment

    February 9, 2020, 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM @ Montpelier Recreation Center

    Ever wanted to try roller derby? Here's your chance! No experience or gear required to get started. Make new friends, get super strong and fit, have fun, and get working on those new year's resolutions. We are running an 8-week program to teach you all the skills you need to join the team! Never fear - there is no physical contact with other skaters at this introductory level. 18+, all genders and ability levels are welcome. We will lend you skates and protective gear (you must bring a mouthguard) for the duration of the program. Please RSVP with your shoe size so we can make sure we have skates for you.
