Christ Church Concerts presents the second in their concert series during Montpelier’s next Art Walk on Friday February 3. Cabot pianist Diane Huling plays Romantic works for piano at the church at 64 State Street from 5:30-6:30. The concert is free and open to all. There is no admission charge, but a donation basket will be out to support musical programs at the church. Christ Church has recently acquired a Yamaha grand piano which has delighted area pianists in the sonorous acoustics of the historic sanctuary.

The League of Women Voters of Vermont, in partnership with Kellogg-Hubbard Library presents the fourth in its 2022-23 Lecture Series on The Impact of Climate Change on Vermont. This season we are looking at its effect on personal, economic, and ecological levels, closing with action that has been taken and what we can do individually and as a community. The fourth program, on Wednesday, February 8 at 7:00 pm presents a Current Legislative Initiatives Update, and will provide a preview of relevant state legislation and the Impact of past legislation. Panel members are VT Sen. Andrew Perchlik and Rep. Gabrielle Stebbins; Jared Duval, Executive Director of Energy Action Network will moderate. The program will be hosted via Zoom and is open to the public. Attendance is free, but all guests must register at www.kellogghubbard.org/adult-programs.

With the support of the Montpelier Homelessness Task Force, Colby Lynch and Matthew Vernon Whalan will speak at the library on February 27, at 6:30 in the Hayes Room. Colby will describe how her life has changed. She moved from a relatively comfortable, small-town life as a caregiver to becoming unhoused and living in a motel unit in Barre-Montpelier. Matt is a journalist who has spent years befriending and writing about the unhoused in Brattleboro and will share experiences from his work.
