Birchgrove Baking:
Sweet Moments in Montpelier Since 2009

Since opening its doors in 2009, Birchgrove Baking has been a cozy hub for Montpelier’s sweetest celebrations and everyday comforts. Whether you’re popping in for a morning coffee, grabbing a pastry on your way to work, or waiting in line for their famous Sunday doughnuts, the shop has become a cherished part of the community.

Co-owners Jennifer Toce and John Belding have shared over fifteen years of memories with their neighbors, from custom cakes for birthdays and weddings to the simple joy of a perfectly baked croissant. Despite the challenges of running a small kitchen, they continue to offer carefully made treats and warm, welcoming service six days a week.

Birchgrove Baking isn’t just about pastries, it’s about community. Their doors are open for walk-ins, they maintain an online store for custom orders, and they even offer gift cards for those who want to support local small businesses.

Montpelier filmmaker and local high school student Ondina captured the essence of Birchgrove in a short mini-documentary, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the people, passion, and pastries that make this bakery so special.
