Tell us about your Zutano and where the name comes from?
I purchased the Zutano Outlet Store in November 2019. The original Company store opened in 1997. The name "Zutano" came to the founders while on their travels. It is Spanish and means so-and-so or what's their name. We are independently owned and are not affiliated with Zutano online. Being the one and only brick and mortar store, we carry Zutano at discounted prices.
Tell us about the range of offerings in your store and some unique items you sell.
We carry mostly Zutano brand clothing and accessories, although we have expanded to other brands as well to compliment the Zutano brand. We carry clothing sizes preemie to 10 years, along with toys and accessories. We are most well known for the Zutano Booties which truly do stay on! We carry not only new prints and styles from Zutano, but also some vintage prints and styles as well. We carry everything from Vermont hoodies/hats to outerwear to footwear to bamboo items to merino wool and quality wood toys to plush Jellycats and so much more. We have festive holiday pajamas sizes NB to 10 years, perfect for that adorable sibling photo op!
What's so special about having a store in downtown Montpelier?
I feel very lucky to have my store in downtown Montpelier. It's a special place where you build friendships with your customers and get to see their families grow up. With the support of other business owners and welcoming community I can't imagine being anywhere else!
What do you love about Montpelier?
I love the sense of community in Montpelier. It especially became clear during the flood of 2023 when the community wholeheartedly rolled up their sleeves and helped out! I don't know if this would be the case in most other places.
