The Downtown Montpelier Ramble
Thursdays | 5–7 PM | All Summer Long
Shops Open Late | Live Music Schedule | Specials & Events | After the Ramble

The Downtown Montpelier Ramble is a weekly invitation to slow your pace, stay a little later, and enjoy downtown in that in-between moment, when the workday winds down and the evening begins. Thursday evenings from 5-7pm starting May 28th through the end of summer, businesses across downtown will keep their doors open later, creating space to browse, connect, and rediscover your favorite spots (or find new ones).
Whether you’re meeting friends, running into neighbors, or just taking a solo stroll, the Ramble is about showing up and being part of downtown Montpelier.
What to Expect
Extended Hours
A rotating list of downtown businesses will stay open later each Thursday. Pop in, shop small, or explore somewhere new. We’ll keep an updated list here all season long so check back often!
Live Street Music
From Langdon Street, the Rialto Bridge, and Main Street enjoy local musicians fill the downtown streets with live music.
Interested in playing? Email [email protected] to be added to the schedule.
Make a Night of It
The Ramble doesn’t have to end at 7pm. Keep the evening going with dinner at a local restaurant, catch more live music at a downtown venue, or check out what else is happening around town.
Community spaces like the Center for Arts and Learning also have extended Thursday evening hours so don't forget to explore 46 Barre Street and the art galleries on the 1st and 2nd floors.
