We bring community together through our events including July 3rd, Art Walk, the Brown Bag Concert Series, the Taste of Montpelier Food Festival and Moonlight Magic, and support other community events. More than 20,000 people attended Montpelier Alive's events annually.  Our goal is to create a vibrant year-round events calendar with strong and sustainable events.

“I attend every Art Walk. The art that I see challenges me and I reflect on those challenges for weeks after the event… My life is richer for these challenges.” -Elizabeth Parker

Montpelier Alive hosts events that leverage our community parnerships, showcase Montpelier businesses, and draw visitors from near and far. Learn more about Montpelier Alive events.

In addition to our events, we love supporting events in our community. We offer an equipment lending library, authored a helpful downtown event planning handbook, and offer an annual Downtown Event Grant Program.

“The Montpelier Alive grants have allowed us at Scrag to think out of the box and execute Mary and Evan’s creative curations — including a musical scavenger hunt throughout downtown Montpelier,” Scrag Mountain Music Managing Director Lara Mones told me. “The pop-up concerts that we have been able to put on through this grant help us to fulfill our mission of bringing affordable (free!), accessible, and innovative programs to our community. In addition to the financial help, which is significant, the additional support and resources offered through this program have allowed us to build many wonderful partnerships in downtown Montpelier and support local business through our music-making activities. We are so grateful for this special grant program!”
