Fall in Love
It's easy to fall in love with Montpelier when you visit during foliage season. Cool misty mornings give way to crisp days filled with sunshine. Leaves burst with color and no matter where you look, you'll be struck by the natural beauty. Fill your day with hikes in Hubbard Park, take in the view from St. Augustine's Cemetery, or pop into our independent book stores and find a book to curl up with. Here are some of our fall favorites:
- Stroll through town in the evening and enjoy the illuminated bridges.
- Visit North Branch Nature Center.
- Get an early start on your holiday shopping during Moonlight Magic, Friday, October 17th 2025 4-8pm. Discounts and surprises all around town!
- Hay wagon rides bring groups of people deep into Hubbard Park where they are led by guides through candle-lit paths to stages of storytelling, music, fire, and enchantment as part of the annual Enchanted Forest Celebration, October 17th & 18th 2025 4-8pm.
- Illuminate Downtown in our Lantern Parade, November 22nd starting at 5pm.
- Shop local during the holidays, support your community, and have fun shopping in Downtown Montpelier on Flannel Friday and Small Business Saturday! The Friday and Saturday following Thanksgiving.
