Summer in the City
Some would say that summer is the best season in Montpelier. Even though we can make the case for every season, it's hard to argue with gorgeous weather (escape the humidity and visit our magical land where the average high in July is just 83!), long summer evenings, front porch living, and dips in the swimming hole. Here are some of our summer favorites:
- Enjoy a maple creemee at Red Hen Baking Co, Morse Farm, or check out the gelato at Enna.
- Catch a Mountaineers baseball game. You can view the 2026 schedule here!
- Paddle the Winooski River.
- July 3rd Festival: Enjoy food trucks, family fun, a road race, a community parade, live music, and a spectacular fireworks finale!
- Hunger Mountain Co-op Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series: (July - September) Enjoy free live music in downtown Montpelier with the Hunger Mountain Co-op Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series, Wednesdays from 12–1 PM in the Christ Church Courtyard.
- Do Good Fest: July 11, 2026. A benefit concert for youth mental health, held on the National Life lawn.
