the July 3rd Parade is Montpelier’s must-see event of the year! 

Parade Route

The July 3rd Parade starts at the Spring Street roundabout, travels down Main Street and State Street in front of the State House, ending near 133 State Street. Parade viewing is best on Main Street and State Street. This year vendors will be located on the DMV side of State Street. Parade viewing will be great from the State House side of the street.

Can’t make it downtown? ORCA Media will be livecasting and streaming the parade! Tune in to channel 1075 at 6 p.m. or visit the ORCA Media website.

This year’s theme, “Together We Shine,” celebrates the spirit of unity and resilience that defines Montpelier. Like the newly illuminated bridges that connect our city, this parade brings together neighbors, artists, families, and community groups from all walks of life—each a vital light in the constellation of our shared home. As we march, dance, and cheer our way through downtown, we honor the connections that carry us forward and the collective strength that allows us to shine brighter—together.

Catamount Pipe Band

Catamount Pipe Band has been based in central Vermont for over 25 years. Cheer them on as they prepare to compete at the World Pipe Band Championships in Scotland next month!

And now we have the Montpelier City Council. Elected every year on Town Meeting Day, the members of the City Council give tirelessly of their time and effort to ensure that our city government will meet the needs of all Montpelier's residents. Come down to watch them in action and talk about your concerns on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month.

We are Capitol Advocates Together, a local group of Green Mountain Self-Advocates. We are a disability rights group. Together we shine because we contribute to our society. We give back to our communities. We are hard workers. We speak up for ourselves and others. We speak up for the rights of people with disabilities. We all belong.

Shidaa Projects Inc

Shidaa Projects, Inc. is a Vermont based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on cultural education and diversity through sharing West African dances, drumming and other activities. We do this in two ways; first by conducting workshops and residencies in schools, and second by dance drumming performances in community spaces. Our mission is to promote cultural diversity and inclusivity through the use of these West African cultural educational activities focusing on students and local communities. Through our drum and dance performances and fostering cultural values, we aspire to help students and community members become better citizens with more empathy and understanding of others.

AroMed Essentials/ Pink Pig/ Just Basics

AroMed Essentials, in coordination with Just Basics, have 3 Giant Pink Piggie Banks in town called MaMa, Maisy and Mary Jane. Our beloved pigs are hungry for your donations! All donations go to Just Basics Food Pantry! Our hungry piggies can be found "grazing" in front of Auchuchon, Bear Pond Books and on the Rialto Bridge. These unique additions to our downtown were created by metal artist and owner of Bent Nails, Aaron Scoti!

Gerald Malloy for Vermont

Mr. Malloy is a Retired Army Officer, Combat Veteran, Bronze Star recipient and class of 1984 West Point Graduate. Mr. Malloy wants Vermonters and our country to thrive.

Sit Means Sit, a local dog training business dedicated to building strong, lasting bonds between dogs and their owners. With expertly trained pups by their side, Sit Means Sit demonstrates how teamwork and trust create harmony between humans and their canine companions. Our entry perfectly reflects this year’s theme, “Together We Stand,” showcasing unity through training and mutual respect. Keep an eye out for some amazing obedience demonstrations and lots of wagging tails!

Montpelier section of The Green Mountain Club

The Montpelier section of the Green Mountain Club is celebrating the 70th anniversary of it's creation back in 1955. They have a 25 foot long banner depicting the mountains along the Long Trail, which runs the length of Vermont for 273 miles from Massachusetts to Canada. This banner was created 20 years ago, in 2005, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Montpelier section of the GMC. It was used in the July 3 parade in that year.

Central Vermont Youth Hockey Black Bear

Central Vermont Youth Hockey Black Bears organization was established in 2022 following the merger of the youth hockey programs from Barre, Montpelier, Northfield, and Waterbury. Our goal is to provide young athletes with opportunities for growth and skill development, while fostering teamwork and building lifelong friendships. Youth sports play a vital role in a child's growth, teaching life skills like teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and goal-setting. The program is non-profit and is 100% volunteer run!

Sarah For Vermont

Sarah Copeland Hanzas (rhymes with Kansas) has been Vermont Secretary of State since 2023. As Vermont's chief elections official, Sarah fights every day to ensure our democracy is strong and that Vermonters can tell their elected officials what is important to them. Sarah will fight to be sure Vermont's elections continue to be free, fair and accessible to all.

Montpelier (SSN 765) Support Committee

It is an annual tradition for the USS Montpelier (SSN 765) crew to participate in Montpelier's Fourth of July activities. This year, they came to Montpelier from Norfolk, VA.

Vermont Public Interest Research Group (VPIRG)

The Vermont Public Interest Research Group (VPIRG) is the largest nonprofit consumer and environmental advocacy organization in the state. For fifty years, VPIRG has brought the voices of everyday Vermonters to public policy debates concerning the environment, health care, consumer protection, and democracy. Today, staff, partners, and friends are here to celebrate VPIRG's newest campaign, Democracy Summer!

DANCE AND Movement Center

DANCE AND aims to be a collaborative, inclusive, accessible space. Offering many different ways to engage your body, mind, and spirit, through dance and movement. We provide a safe space for people to connect with their own bodies as well as other like-minded individuals. Serving all ages, with many different avenues to connect through movement and dance, in a joyful and inclusive atmosphere.

Vermont Mountaineers

The Vermont Mountaineer Baseball team is a member of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. Over the past twenty three seasons, hundreds of collegiate players from all over the U.S. have come to Montpelier to improve their skills playing summer baseball and furthering their dreams of playing in the major leagues. We have three championships and look forward to another successful year providing the Central Vermont area top notch baseball and entertainment at Montpelier's Recreational Field.

Vermont Attorney General's Office

Attorney General Clark was sworn in on January 5, 2023, and is the first woman to be elected to this position. The Attorney General's Office is the State of Vermont's independent law office, representing state government, protecting the public interest and the environment, and enforcing the law with equal right and justice to all.

Summit School of Traditional Music and Culture

The Summit School of Traditional Music and Culture believes in bringing people of all ages together through music! The young musicians playing today are all alumni of our Youth Trad Band classes. Summit sponsors weekly classes in the fall and spring, as well as a variety of special events, workshops, and informal musical gatherings. Next up is the Old Time on the Onion weekend gathering July 18-20. Come play, dance and sing with us! Truck and trailer courtesy of our music-loving friends at Bobolink Farm in East Montpelier.

Congresswoman Becca Balint

Congresswoman Becca Balint is a mom, teacher, and progressive leader. Becca is the first woman and openly LGBTQ person to represent Vermont. As the daughter of a working-class mother and immigrant father, Becca is deeply committed to defending American democracy and protecting vulnerable communities. A deep sense of justice, empathy and service has guided Becca’s career from the beginning - first as an educator who taught middle school in Windham County for fourteen years, then as an activist and State Senator and ultimately as the President Pro Tempore in 2021.

Kellogg-Hubbard Library

The Kellogg-Hubbard library serves the Central Vermont area, providing high quality resources and programs, as well as a much needed third space. The residents of Berlin, Calais, East Montpelier, Worcester, Middlesex, and Montpelier all support us financially, but anyone and everyone is welcome to use our library. Middlesex volunteer fire department will be in the parade to show our community the personnel that serves the community. And that we are always here to help the community in any way we can.

We chose to march while displaying inspiring words from our Constitution. We want to remind people that our country was created with the lofty objective of forming a more perfect union. We will continue to strive to meet that goal with humility and compassion.

The 501st New England Garrison is part of the 501st Legion, a Star Wars costuming fan club with over 12,000 active members across the globe.

Fewer Campaign

Seth Fewer who is a future political candidate for the 2048 election. He has had interviews with people such as the mayor of Barre Vermont. His slogan is fewer problems more solutions as seen on his hat.

Vermont Coalition for Palestinian Liberation

We celebrate the resilience of the Palestinian People over 75 years of expulsion, occupation, oppression, dispossession, etc. Vermonters for Justice in Palestine (VTJP) works to support the Palestinian people in their struggle for human rights and to end the illegal, immoral, and brutal Israeli occupation through education, advocacy, and action. We are committed to the principles of self-determination for the Palestinian people, the right of return for Palestinian refugees, and full civil and political rights for all Palestinians in order to promote the equality and safety of both Palestinians and Israelis.

The Mitzvah Fund

The Mitzvah Fund is a 501 C3 Non profit organization based in East Montpelier that provides veterinary care, surgery & dentistry for the companion animals of low income seniors, veterans, disabled first responders, unhoused neighbors and the victims of domestic abuse. We are solely funded by private donations and grants.
